There is a number of types of stained glass projects available for purchase if you are looking to create some new art and have decided that you want to try a stained glass project. The projects are quite simple and use basic copper foil stained glass methods and can be done by yourself or can be done with someone else. These glass art projects are nice to do with kids and can create a family fun time in the stained glass studio that your children will love.
One stained glass project that you can do is to create an item from stained glass mosaic which will act as a piece of art all in its self. You will need to purchase or create stained glass mosaic pieces. These pieces will be arranged on what ever object that you want to create and then be glued down.
Read more here about using glass saws to shape glass and how to store the stained glass.
Once the glued pieces are in place you will want to then place grout over top of all the pieces and smooth over and then wipe and allow to dry. These pieces are great for creating tables and such. You will need to purchase either a mosaic pattern book or search on the internet through the Google or Yahoo search engine for free glass mosaic patterns. Once you have a pattern check to see if the pattern will fit on the object that you are trying to create.

Creating a very cheap stained glass mirror art project is quite simple. You will need to remove the mirror from the wall if the mirror you are wanting to use is hanging up as this will allow easier access to creating your art piece. You will then need to lay out your pattern on the mirror and make sure that the pattern is laying just right. You can either create the whole edge of the mirror into the mosaic art piece or you can just create a pattern to use on just the corners of the mirror. Sandblasting glass is another option to decorate the glass.

Once you have decided where the pieces are going to go then you will then glue the pieces onto the mirror. Once you have glued the cut glass pieces on the mirror you will need to seal it on the mirror with the grout and this will need to be done carefully so that no grout will get on the mirror. In the case that it happens to get on the mirror you will want to wipe it off as soon as possible so that it will not dry on the mirror and not wipe off later. Once the grout has dried you can then hang it on the wall and watch all the compliments come in about the art project that features stained glass mosaic.
The next project that you can create is a table. Lets say that you have a end table that you want to use that you are not using right now in your home. You can use this table as a base to create your mosaic table. You should first sand the top of the table to make sure that the glue will stick to the top of the table. First you will want to trace the outline of the top of the table and then lay your pieces out on the traced paper and be sure that all pieces will fit inside the traced outline.
You will want to cut pieces that are hanging off from the side and once you have all the pieces aligned and are sure that the pattern you have is right, you will then glue all these pieces on the top of the table base. Once the pieces are glued you will then want to cover all the pieces in grout and smooth them over the surface and wipe off the access so this does not dry uneven. Once this is done allow it to dry for 24 hours before setting out to be used.
